Samurai Film Festival inaugurated in Chennai

Mansonori Nakano, Consul - General of Japan inaugurated the Samurai Film Festival, organized jointly by Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF) and Consulate - General of Japan at Chennai on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mansonori Nakono, said, ' The best of Samurai films are being showcased in the festival. He thanked ICAF for taking all efforts to jointly organize the festival'.

Ravi Kottarakara, president, Film Federation of India, said, 'I grew up watching Samurai films. The valour and action-packed movies featuring Samurai are always a huge hit'.

He said holding such events will strengthen cultural bonding between two nations. Actress Anuja Iyer lit the kuthuvillaku to inaugurate the fest.
Some of the movies to be screened at the Samurai Film Festival that would come to close tomorrow includes Gate of Hell, The Cruel Story at the end of Tokugawa, Benten Boy among others.

S Thangaraj of ICAF was also present on the occasion.
