Singhalese army forces theatre owners to screen Madras Café in Sri Lanka

Actor John Abraham has taken movie ‘Madras Café’ in both Hindi and English.  The movie has scenes depicting LTTE as terrorists.  There is scene in the movie showing plot being designed in Madras Café Hotel in Kuala Lumpur to assassinate Rajiv Gandhi.

All most every political party in Tamil Nadu protested against screening of the movie ‘Madras Café’.  Also, a case was filed against release of the movie.  So, the movie ‘Madras Café’ has not been screened in Tamil Nadu.

Since Tamils in London protested against screening of the movie, nobody volunteered to screen the movie there.  But, the movie has been screened in Sri Lankan cities.

In Sri Lanka, the movie ‘Madras Café’ is being screened in LCD TVs with broad screen.

An accusation arose that Sri Lankan President Raja Paksa subtly supported making of the movie ‘Madras Café’’.

But, since the movie is not screened in Sri Lanka now, the Singhalese army seems to have threatened theatre owners and demanded that the movie be screened in theatres there.
