Students in Chennai agitate against ‘Madras Café’

Hindi movie ‘Madras Café’ stars John Abraham. The movie depicts Eelam Tamil struggle as terrorism, and the movie’s story is such that Tamil Nadu political heads are directly involved in promotion of terrorism.  There is strong protest against the movie not alone in Tamil Nadu, but also across places in India. 


Tamil activists filed case that the movie should not be released in Madurai.  Following the case filed, court announced that the movie dubbed in Tamil should not be released without proper explanation.  So, it seemed like the movie would directly release in Hindi. 


Producers of ‘Madras Café’ announced that the movie would hit screens in Tamil Nadu tomorrow.  In a development, 30 students from Tamil outfits staged agitation in Mylapore, Chennai.  Political analysts have opined that the agitation would have impact across the entire Tamil Nadu. 


Mylapore police rushed to the spot and arrested agitators and detained them in nearby marriage hall.  Reportedly, Chennai Law College students also agitated.  Further, students from Salem and Mettur have raised voice in protest.
