Supreme Court imposes curb on criminal investigation into Mathur Bandaarkar case

Supreme Court has issued order curbing criminal investigation into case related to rape of actress by director Mathur Bandaarka.
 
In 2004, Actress Preity Jain made a sensational complaint in the Mumbai Versova police station that popular director cum producer Mathur Bandaarkar allured her into sexual relationship by making promises that he would give her chances as heroine. 

Mumbai court ordered Mathur Bandaarkar to face the case as there is facet of crime to the case.  The petition filed by the director against the order was rejected by the Mumbai high court.

Following this, Mathur Bandaarkar filed petition in the Supreme Court demanding nullifying the case against him.

The judges HL Dutt and CK Prasad heard the case and passed order curbing criminal investigation into the case.

Supreme Court instructed that notice be passed to Maharashtra regional government and actress Preity Jain regarding the case.
