24 creations including writer T Selvaraj’s novel Thol have been nominated for Sahitya Academy Award. The official announcement was made on Thursday.
The meeting by the management headed by its head Dr Viswanath Prasad Tiwari was held in Delhi.
Among 24 languages, creations by various writers were recommended, and award winners were selected under categories as author, poet, short stories and autobiographies.
Tamil writer D Selvaraj, who wrote Tamil novel ‘Thol’ was selected for Sahitya Academy award.
Assamese writer Chandana Goswamy, Bengali writer Subrata Mukopadhyay, and Manipuri writer Jodha C Sanasam are among writers from 24 languages who are to be presented the award.
In the short story category, awards are to be presented to Jayanth Pawar (Marathi), Udhay Thulang (Nepali), Gaurahaari Das (Oriya), Kandahar (Chandauli), late writer Indira Vaswaani(Sindi).
In the press note by the management committee, it has been announced that the awards would be presented in event held in Delhi the coming February 18th.
