Telugu movie ‘Balupu’ with Shruti Haasan in it lands in trouble

Actress Shruti Haasan lost market in Tamil, following which she shifted her attention to Hindi and Telugu movies. Now, there is sensation as Brahmins outfit has raised protest against her upcoming flick. 

‘Balupu’ is Telugu movie starring Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan and Anjali.  Post the release of the movie trailer, Brahmins Association has raised protest against the movie. 


Dronam Raju Ravikumar, leader of the youth wing, AP Brahmin Seva Sangh, spoke: -

‘Last year, a movie showing Brahmins in bad light was released.  We agitated against the movie.  The case is in pending in the court.  In a development, as we viewed the trailer of movie ‘Balupu’, we were taken aback.’

‘There are dialogues in the movie which make mockery of protests that we held last year.  Censor Board has not objected to the dialogues and has given certification to the movie.’

‘We have forwarded petition to the Censor Board, Film Chamber, and Andhra Government to remove dialogues making mockery of our community.’

Gopichand Malineni, director of the movie ‘Balupu’, said: -


‘We have not taken movie showing any particular community in bad light.  We would amicably settle the issue which has arisen.  We are to screen the movie for the members of the Brahmins Association.’
