Trisha will play the chief minister in a bilingual titled CM. The film is to be directed by Raghu Ram and will be made in Tamil and Kannada simultaneously. Arjun will be the hero in the Tamil version and Shivraj Kumar will be the hero in the Kannada version.

When the actress was approached for the role, she did not agree to do it immediately as she was doubtful if she would fit in. But Trisha agreed to sign the dotted lines she was convinced that she could pull it off successfully.
