As assistant director Ponnusamy declared that he is entitled to the story of ‘ThaaNdavam’, following which he lodged complaint, the issue has grown to magnified proportions. Ponnusamy accuses that the story is based on script he gave to Dhananjeyan for reading.
Also, Dhananjeyan said that before Ponnusamy related the story to him, Vijay related story of ‘ThaaNdavam’ to him. Also, he added that he gave advance to Vijay. Also, he conveyed that there is lot of difference between Ponnusamy’s story and the script by Vijay. Also, Dhananjeyan said that Ponnusamy lodged complaint upon hunch that scenes described in the script he gave occur in movie ‘Thaandavam’. Thus, Dhananjeyan has criticised that the complaint is based on sheer hunch.
Dhananjeyan and Vijay alone know the truth in statement that Vijay related story of ‘ThaaNdavam’ before Ponnusamy approached Dhananjeyan with the story. Even if it is true, there is no guarantee that modification in script has been made after hearing story from Ponnusamy.
As Dhananjeyan declares that there is difference between Ponnusamy’s script and Vijay’s script, he unwittingly concedes similarity. Moreover, story by Ponnusamy is about blind man avenging enemies. It is to be noted that this one line turns out the story of ‘ThaaNdavam’.
It is meaningless that Dhananjeyan declares that the complaint is based on sheer hunch. For a movie which is yet to be released, one can file complaint based on hunch alone. Moreover, for a movie based on his single line, could Ponnusamy file complaint after movie is released?
The movie ‘Deiva ThirumagaL’ by Dhananjeyan and Vijay is a blatant copy. It is quite natural that Ponnusamy fears that his script has been copied for the upcoming flick by Vijay.
Presently, both the scripts have been forwarded to director’s association. Even if Ponnusamy’s complaint is sidelined, the doubt prevails.
