Udhayanidhi cross at government for refusal of tax exemption for OKOK

‘The political vendetta Jayalalithaa government has towards my father is now telling upon my films’ said producer cum actor Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Regarding this Udhayanidhi Stalin has released a report:

‘For the movie ‘Oru Kal Oru KaNNaadi’ I produced and acted in, there was no exemption from entertainment tax.  Before this, for ‘7aum ARivu’, they announced tax exemption after the movie had been stopped from screening in theaters.  Thus nobody gained anything.’

‘With regard to ‘Oru Kal Oru KaNNaadi’ we adhered to all rules and regulations fixed by the government. Then, we submitted application for tax exemption.’

‘A movie with much English words in Tamil song was recently given exemption.  There is scene depicting marriage in a bar.  In what way is it right to turn down tax exemption for my movie which has no such obscenity or cultural degradation?’

‘Tax exemption has been given for movie with excessive violence and with presence of English words in dialogues.   In what way is it proper to deny tax exemption to ‘Oru Kal Oru KaNNaadi’ which does not have influence of English in dialogues?’

‘This not alone impacts me but also the distributors who bought the movie, and the theater proprietors who have screened the movie.’
