Veteran music composer TK Ramamurthy passes away

Veteran music composer TK Ramamurthy passed away early this morning.  He was aged 92. 

TK Ramamurthy was suffering from breathing trouble and was admitted to private hospital yesterday.  TK Ramamurthy passed away this morning not responding to treatment. 

TK Ramamurthy’s body has been placed in his residence in Royapettah, Chennai, for homage by the public.  His family has conveyed that his final rites would be held tomorrow. 

Viswanathan and Ramamurthy, who are addressed as ‘Mellisai Mannargal’, had composed music for more than 700 movies.  Also, Ramamurthy has singly composed music for many movies. 

Music composition by Ramamurthy for movies as Then Mazhai, Marakka Mudiyuma, Naan, Thanga Churangam, Kaadhal Jothi, Sangamam earned him name and fame. 

TK Ramamurthy was a violin expert and number ‘Engae Nimmadhi’ for which he composed music remains evergreen.  Also, TK Ramamurthy bagged the Tamil Nadu Government’s Kalaimamani award for his service in the field of cinema.
