Veteran playback singer TM Soundararajan passes away

Veteran playback singer TM Soundararajan passed away today in Chennai. He was aged 91.


Following health setback, for the last few months, TM Soundararajan had been frequently receiving medical treatment.  Last week, TM Soundararajan developed breathing trouble.  Following that, he was admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in private hospital in Mylapore, Chennai.  After treatment, Soundararajan returned home.  He passed away this afternoon in his residence in Mandaveli, Chennai.


TM Soundararajan was born on March 24th, 1923, as Meenatchi Iyengar’s second son.  TM Soundararajan debuted as playback singer in movies through number ‘Raadhe Nee Ennai Vittu Pogaathedi’ in movie ‘Krishna Vijayam’ released in 1950.

 
After that, he received chances to do playback singing for many movies. 


TM Soundararajan had done more than 10, 000 cinema songs in Tamil. Also, he had done cinema songs in Telugu and Malayalam.
