Vijay stresses need for secrecy in cinema

Actor Vijay, Kollywood’s collection king, is busy with schedules for movies as ‘Thalaivaa’ and ‘Jilla’. Also he does movie directed by AR Murugadoss.  Recently, Vijay gave interview to a weekly magazine, excerpts from which are as follows: -

‘Cinema is a very emotional medium.  When a fan turns up at theatre, we should not just pin him to the seat. We should take him to the arena of the story, and pull him to the circumstance in the movie.  That experience is the magic in cinema.’

‘Now, they share it just like that through ‘making’ and ‘promotion’.  During times when MGR and Sivaji did movies, they maintained those things as secret.  Also, fans watched them in silver screen with amazement and applauded.  At least a small amount of secrecy is needed now.’

‘During shooting, we work hard and do the scene. If it is thrown to light through what is called ‘making’, there would be no thrill when the scene is shown in theatre.  Fans would just coolly say that they already viewed the making of the scene in the internet.  That is not good for cinema.  Let us show the magic on screen.’
