Vishal, Abirami Ramanathan crosses swords

TFPC president Vishal has said that no cinema theatre can charge more than the fixed rates and one can complain if charged more.

Speaking to media persons, Vishal said theatre owners, who have been allowed to hike ticket prices, should cut parking charges and sell canteen products on MRP.

He also said efforts are being taken to cut online booking charges which is Rs 30 per ticket. But an exhibitor, said, 'After so many years, only now the government has allowed increase of ticket rates.

If we follow Vishal's restrictions, the entry fee hike would be of no use. Will Vishal ask actors to reduce a part of their huge remuneration?''We will sell tickets at the rates prescribed by the government.

However rates of unpacked items sold in canteens cannot be reduced', he added.A section of theatre owners said few demands by Vishal including bringing food items to cinema halls are not feasible. 'Our association will convene a meeting and discuss the issue.'
