X-Men: Apocalypse hurts Hindus, Hinduthva protest

The trailer of the Hollywood film X-Men: Apocalypse was released on December 11. Now the trailer had spur controversy as it has a scene in which the villain of the film has a dialogue of comparing himself to Lord Krishna.

The scene in which villain is heard saying, "I have been called many things over many lifetimes - Ra, Krishna, Yahweh”, which the Hinduthva group offended saying that evil is compared with Lord Krishna. According to religious statesman Rajan Zed, the reference to Lord Krishna in Apocalypse is demeaning and hurts Hindu sentiments as billions of people worship Krishna.

He tweeted that, “Comparing #Krishna to villain #Apocalypse in #XMenApocalypse trailer was inappropriate. Delete references to Krishna unless scripture based”.
