Silambarasan imposes self-confinement

Silambarasan’s Brahmin getup for Silambattam created a flutter sometime ago when it was published. But it has now been revealed that the actor also another garb in this film. Appearing very differently in the flashback scenes, Silambarasan will sport curly hair and a very distinctive beard, which curls both upward as well as downward.
But then, this young lad had always tried to do something different in his films. It has been reported that the actor now avoids attending functions and events
Lawrence moves out of his house

Dance master Lawrence called for a press release where he said he had to move out his house and live in a rented apartment because the place had been converted into a dance school. Two important and hilarious comedy sequences from Rajini’s Kuselan was completed today with Vadivelu. The set-up is this: Rajini, the superstar has come to shoot a scene in Vadivelu’s village. Vadivelu plays a character who has been dying to get a glimpse of the Superstar. He decides that he will go to any length to see Rajini in action.

Director Vishnuvardhan’s brother, Krishna, making his debut with Ali Baba performed an amazing stunt without knowing it. He surprised the crew and everyone watching. The scene he was required to do takes place on a busy highway, with vehicles whizzing from both sides.

UK: Karuna released, remains under immigration detention powers

Vinayagmoorthy Muralitharan, alias Karuna, a former Tiger commander who turned leader of a paramilitary group operated by the Sri Lanka Army in the East, was released by the British authorities on Thursday following his imprisonment for possessing false documents. "He now remains under immigration detention powers," said British High Commission in Colombo, in a press release issued on Friday.
11 killed, 30 wounded, bomb explodes inside restaurant in Ampaa'rai

11 persons were killed and more than 30 persons were wounded in a bomb explosion inside a crowded restaurant in the centre of Ampaa'rai town in a pre-dominant Sinhala area, Friday evening around 6:00 p.m., initial reports said.

Mr. Sinnathamby Nagarajah, who served as Mayor of Jaffna twice in the late 60’s, passed away in New Jersey, USA, on Thursday May 8h at the age of 77. Mr. Nagarajah was a Tamil nationalist, and an active member of the Tamil diaspora in lobbying in the United States for political support for Tamil struggle of self determination.

6 Tamil youths abducted in Aalaiyadiveampu

unidentified armed men in a white van abducted six Tamil youths Thursday around 8:30 p.m at Aalayadiveampu in Akkaraipattu police division in Ampaa’rai district, residents in Aalayadiveampu said.
The names of the abductees are not known.
