He is the wayward son of a business tycoon. To establish his character there are some scenes of him at the beach, drinking and dancing with eunuchs, slum dwellers and women of loose character for company.
She is a brilliant academic, with memories of a bitter past haunting her and with vendetta in her heart. She joins his company and improves its fortunes. She stalks him, charms her way into his heart. And when he is all hers she takes him (Prabhusekhar) to the top of a high raise building and leads him to his death. A sense of Déjà vu?
His younger sibling (Devaraj) arrives from aboard and she plays the same game with him too. She removes from her path anyone who suspects her hand in the affair - like the elder brother's friend who wanted to warn the younger one about the new girl in his life; like the manager who sees through her act. These two sturdy men run for their lives, without even putting up a convincing flight. As though it were one of Spielberg's dinosaurs chasing them and not a chit of a girl with a tiny frame!
And when the time of reckoning comes she reveals her bitter past. How the father of the two guys had killed her father and raped her mother. Some clichéd, loosely etched, hastily put scenes here. If one has seen 'Baazigar', one would find most of the scenes in the film familiar. But considering that the actors and the technicians are debutants, they have done a fairly creditable job. The element of suspense has been maintained throughout. But the script could have been worked out better and the transition of scenes smoother.
Prabhusekhar does justice to his first major role. Devaraj shows a lot of promise. Handling a heavy role is Divya who puts in commendable efforts. If producer-distributor Rajan wants one to take his acting seriously, he had better polish his act. A couple of songs are lively (Pradip-Ravi). But what was that noise banging away in the background?
