Movie: Nee Enthan Vaanam
Director: R.K. Suresh
Cast: Vignesh, Reshma, Charanraj, Vadivelu, Rocky, Vikas, Srilekha.
Rocky and his two cronies loot a government van carrying money and take refuge in a forest. Cops Vignesh and Charanraj set camp to trace the robbers. The area is inhabited by tribal people with their own customs and rituals that have been featured in earlier films of this genre. The ladies, of course, are scantily dressed. Serial killings of tribal girls - sexually mauled before they are stabbed - make matters worse. Vignesh suspects Charanraj, who has this irreverent attitude to women, as the killer. Rocky who prowls around in the night, and a shifty eyed tribal youth are also in the list. Finally when the mask is torn off, the motive is traced to the killer's past - that of his wife having betrayed the man for his best friend.
For a debut film, the director has a storyline and a location that is different from the routine movies. The suspense is well maintained and the narration does not lag except when the songs intrude out of context. The actors have done their jobs adequately and one cannot blame them. But with no big names in the cast and low production costs, the film is unlikely to reach the audience.
