It was a massive start for Vijay starrer Bairavaa today. Directed by Bharathan, the movie is a must watch for Vijay fans. Unlike his previous movie, the actor seem fresh and young. The maker over is apt and welcoming.

The entire movie revolves around a debt collector who fights against crimes in educational field. Bairavaa (Vijay) is a straight forward guy who works as a collection agent in a private bank. Although he is ruthless in his work, he has a heart of Gold.

Malar Vizhi (Keerthy Suresh) is his ladylove. Bairavaa is head over heel for her. She tells him about a selfish educationalist PK (Jagapathi Babu), who shattered her dream of becoming a doctor. Bairavaa then moves from Chennai to Kallidai Kuruchi to solve the woes of Malar.

How he does it forms the rest of the story.Only the first half of the 165 minutes is pretty engaging. The pace slows down as it progress and one does not expect a climax one would see in a Vijay movie. There is fight sequences and romance.

The entire movie has various punchlines that makes it a pro Vijay flick. But the question is how long the audience would love to put up with it?Music by Santhosh Narayanan is good. The varalam varalam va Bairavaa is to be watched out for.

The melody number Nilayo has become an instant catch. Director Bharathan has played to the positives of Vijay. He has kept two intelligently choreographed action sequences that has Vijay has kicking some baddies.

The flashback portion is emotional and the dance sequences are a cake walk for the actor.  With two antagonists, Jagapathi Babu and Daniel Balaji, the movie could have been made more massive. Their screen presence is average and does not seem challenging.

Comedy by Satish, Mottai Rajendra and Thambi Ramaiah par below excellence. Somehow the onlines by the comedians does not fail to evoke laughter. One of the biggest advantages in the movie is the story and dialogues by Bharathan. Bairavaa is indeed a treat for Vijay fans this Pongal.
