Call it an intense gripping attempt by debutant Kalyankrishna in his very first film. Booloham is a sports film laced with string message. It speaks of how the sports are being commercialised and that the real talent is being used as a source o make money by few.

Jayam Ravi plays the lead in the movie that is all about life in North Chennai. Trisha plays his ladylove while the cast includes Prakashraj, Ponvannan, Nathan Jones among others.

It is a typical film of n underdog wining the battle. But the dialogues by filmmaker Jananathan makes it interesting. Jayam Ravi plays Booloham, an aspiring boxer.

The sports is passionately followed by many in north Chennai and he is coached by Ponvannan. There is rivalry between two families and Booloham takes revenge in the ring. But he decides to shun the sport fearing it is leading him to violent ways.

But a sports channel run by Prakashraj plots conspiracy to bring him to ring again with an aim to make money. It so happens that Booloham is eventually forced to lock horns with international boxer. What happens then is the climax.

Jayam Ravi is at his best. he is serious and delivers it in style. He looks a typical boxer and suits the role of a North Chennai youth well. Trisha looks fresh and entertaining. Prakashraj plays a wonderful role.  He has enough screen space.

Ponvannan does his part well. Srikanth Deva's music is excellent. All said, Booloham produced by Aascar Ravichandran may lack the final punch but it is engaging fare.

It is certainly a movie to relish for Jayam Ravi fans. The actor has done full justice and come up with a super performance.

Good show by Jayam Ravi
