Heroine-centric movies are a rarity in Tamil cinema. Unlike Bollywood very few are made in Tamil cinema. Joining the list is Engamma Rani.Directed by Bani, the revolves around Dhanshikaa and her travails.

An emotional pot-boiler with twists and turns at right places. The high point of the movie is that it as music by Ilayaraja. His songs and background music has gone well with the story.

Dhanshikaa who sizzled all playing Rajinikanth's daughter in Kabali, hogs all limelight. She is right there portraying her acting skills to perfection. Her dialogue delivery and body language woo audience. She plays mother of twins i the movie that has been shot mostly in Malaysia.

Dhanshikaa strives hard to take care of her twin daughters as her husband, who was working in Cambodia, goes missing in his workplace. All troubles begin for Dhanshikaa as she finds it extremely difficult to grow up the kids. One of the daughter dies due to a mysterious disease.

Now Dhanshikaa goes away from the town with her daughter where she encounters troubles.Dhanshikaa does a wonderful job. She is there delivering her best. Natural and spontaneously all through.

Enga Amma Rani is Bani's emotional tale but the pace is the problem.
