Vijay Sethupathi has given serial hits, and his movies have created a new trend in comedy.  Tamil movie ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara’ triggered huge anticipation among fans.

The movie starts in a red signal.  Sumar Moonji Kumar and Bala appear, and voice is heard saying that audience is to watch their story.  Then, Patti Babu, Painter Kumar, and few others appear.  Again, the voice is heard. It says that audience is going to see the movie with these characters also.  Then, one could sense that the movie is a bit different.

Three separate stories meet at a common point, and thus the movie proves to be a cocktail of stories.  The movie happens in TASMAC wine shops, and the audience is left to wonder whether they are in theatre or in a TASMAC bar.  There are abundant scenes showing liquor shops and liquor bottles.

Vijay Sethupathi does Sumar Moonji Kumar, and he has one-sided love for girl residing in opposite house.  The affair is taken to Pasupathi and a Panchayat is carried out in bar.

Ashwin, who did movie ‘Mankatha’ romances Swathi.  Out of work pressure, he boozes.  As he drives vehicle in inebriated condition, he runs the vehicle over a woman and causes accident.  The woman struggles for life, and she needs rare blood group. Sumar Moonji Kumar has the rare blood group.

Murderers steal Vijay Sethupathi’s cell-phone.  They bring all these into a single track, and suspense is solved.

The screenplay which is intertwined with two romances and one murder is very lengthy.  Otherwise, Sumar Moonji Kumar (Vijay Sethupathi) does not fail to meet expectations among fans.  Indeed, he is a Super Moonji Kumar.

Rib-Cracking humor by Vijay Sethupathi as Sumar Moonji Kumar
