Director Sasi Shankar, a name to reckon with in Malayalam cinema, made his debut in Tamil with Suriya starrer Perazhagan. After almost a decade, he is back with his next Pagadai Pagadai in Kollywood.

An action-packed comical thriller, the movie speaks is full of romance, revenge and comedy. Newcomer Dileep Kumar, Divya Singh, Kovai Sarala, Mayilsamy, Santhanabharathi, Singamuthu, Muthukkalai form part of the cast, that has music by Ramjhi and John Peter.

Dialogues are by Prabhakar for Pagadai Pagadai which is produced by VRTT Arts Films and Wisdom Films.Illavarasu, is a police officer and his wife Kovai Sarala is an aspiring politician.

Kovai Sarala's brother Dileep wants to marry an NRI girl and settle in abroad. Thanks to a match-maker Mayilsamy, Dileep manages to come across Divya Singh, who agrees to marry him.

Lured by her wealth, all family members of Dileep welcome her to India and wait for an opportunity to make some money through the girl. But she comes with a danger.

The twist in the tale is that she is operated by a gang of American criminals and Dileep's life is at risk. What happens then forms the climax. Pagadai has some amateur moments.

And the movie is very loud at many places. Sasi Shankar has tried a cliched ride in the screenplay where Prabhakar's dialogue comes to the rescue. The star casts have tried their best to evoke laughter with Kovai Sarala and Illavarasu standing tall.

Dileep in dual role is okay while Divya Singh performs well. PagadaiPagadai is a thriller that ends well.
