Filmmaker AR Murugadoss knows the knack of picking the right talent. When he comes forward to produce a movie to be directed by one of his protégé (Rajkumar Periyasamy), one is confident of a good show on screen. And young Gautam Karthik plays the lead in Rangoon.

A movie that speaks about a family descended from Burma to Chennai. The whole movie rides of good writing by the filmmaker. He makes sure that there are enough elements in to entertain, engage the audience. He has infused commercial elements besides a strong message.

Rajkumar Periyasamy makes sure that the character resemble close to reality. The first half has enough intriguing moments while the latter part loses the plot. But the filmmaker manages to convince audience with a string climax.

Gautam Karthik obviously gives his best and it is one of the watchable movies from his kitty.Newcomer Sana plays the heroine while Siddque does a key character.Venkat (Gautam Karthik) as a child had come down to Chennai from Burma. He loses his father and his mother takes care of him.

His good ways impress local businessman Gunaseelan (Siddique). But Venkat saves Gunaseelan from his enemies. But Venkat is shocked that Gunasellan is a smuggler. Venkat along with his friends take up smuggling.

Though they make enough money at one point he decides to leave the business only to get into trouble.Hree cheers to Gautam Karthik for there are enough opportunities to come up trumps.Sana is energetic and her screen space is huge. Siddique does it well.

Music composers RH Vikram and Vishal Chandrasekar delivered good work and Anish Tharun Kumar's cinematography is brought and beautiful.Rangoon is a movie to watch.

Rangoon _ Kudos to good writing
