Vishal is back joining hands with director Thiru for Naan Sigappu Manithan, a title inspired by yesteryear Rajnikanth film. Since the movie is about a angry young man on a mission, its fits well.

Thiru and Vishal managed a romantic entertainer in Theeratha Vilyattu PIllai and followed it up with a thriller in Samar. Their third is a mix of both. Produced by Vishal Film factory and UTV Motion Picture, it revolves around Indran (Vishal), a Narcolyptic patient. For those who don't know what Narcolepsy is, it is a chronic neurological disorder caused by the brain’s inability to regulate sleep-wake cycles normally.

The challenges that hero faces be it romance, sentiments, emotion or revenge forms the crux.Lakshmi Menon and Vishal join hands after a huge hit in Paandiya Naadu. Obviously this has let the expectation meter go high. Add to it the 360 degree promotions, all eyes are now NSM. But does it live uyp to the hype is the million dollar question.

The answer is partially or only to an extent. We have seen amnesia and cancer affected patients in Tamil cinema, but here comes Thiru with cataplexy. Indran (Vishal) is a narcoleptic patient. Her mother Saranya takes care of him. Indran has few desires in his life that includes going for a job, walking alone on road, earn well and settle in life. But the hurdle is narcolepsy. His life are his friends Jagan and Sundararam.

Comes Lakshmi Menon in his life. She falls for Vishal's innocence. She develops an affinity. But sadly a tragedy occurs in her life in front of Indran's eyes. He is helpless as  his chronic disorder comes in the way. Now he sets off on revenge mode. He seeks to avenge those who played havoc on her life. There unfolds several twists to the tale.

It is Vishal's show all the way. As an angry youg man he pulls it off well. But the point is that at places he reminds one of his repeated body language and dialogue delivery. Lakshmi Menon plays a urban girl and bit glamorous too. Jagan and Sundararam chip in with their roles. The movies reminds one of few on the same genre at places.

Music is by G V Prakash and cinematography by Richard Nathan. On the whole Naan Sigappu Manithan, is a movie that may satisfy action-lovers. Forget the cliched ride you may enjoy it.
