Kollywood to hold rally 4 April

Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), FEFSI, Nadigar Sangam and Tamil Film Directors Association are planning a procession on 4 April to meet Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Information Minister Kadambur Raju and present their memorandum to sort out the crisis.

The Tamil film industry has been on strike for the last 30 days and no new movies have been allowed to release in that time. 'The shutdown will continue till our demands are met. No new films will get released. Till now, no solution has been arrived.

It is not in our hands, but with the exhibitors. We only ask for transparency,' TFPC president Vishal said.  The actor-producer said that he would not call it a strike and would term it only industry revamp.

'We want people to come back to theatres and it should be user friendly. We don’t want the audience to feel that going to theatre is a costly affair.' Vishal said, 'Under the present scenario, producers and farmers are suffering a lot. Another company is making millions with our content while we are the losers.'
