Sameksha, born as Samiksha Singh, is the daughter of Sat Paul, a business man, and Usha Kwatra, a retired official at the Punjab Secretariat. She was raised in Punjab with traditional values and orthodox upbringing. With Sameksha’s father’s business seeing some bad times and the family running solely on her mother’s income, she was brought up to know the importance of education, security and stability in life.

Even after graduating as an Electronics Engineer, such strict regimes made it difficult for her to break out of her shell and she guarded her personal space. She was always an introvert, never a rebellious child. But from not being a people’s person back then, Sameksha has grown up to be a charming, positive and witty woman that she is today.

Sameksha started her career through modelling, which she forayed into at a very early stage in her life. Her parents didn’t approve of the career shift that she made, but with convincing and compromising she made her way into the field. She went on to act in films despite the fact she didn’t have any acting background or experience. She also studied Shakespearean literature and drama during this time, balancing her studies and career efficiently.

Her big break into the film industry came through the dynamic director Puri Jagannadh who cast her as the lead female role in the Telugu movie 143. She played the role of Sanjana and won the heart of the masses in Tollywood too. From then on, her journey in the Film Industry took off and she acted in many other films.

After making her mark with the first film itself in Tollywood, Sameksha made her debut in Kollywood with the popular Tamil movie Arinthum Ariyamalum  where she starred opposite Navdeep and Arya, directed by Vishnu Vardhan. She won the award for the Best Debut Actress in Tamil industry for the same. She further appeared in her next release, Mercury Pookkal, opposite Srikanth and Meera Jasmine. Till date, Sameksha has starred in more than 15 movies in Tamil and Telugu.
